Landis Architects | BuildersThe owners of this stately Adams Morgan rowhouse wanted to reconfigure rooms on the two upper levels and to create a better layout for the nursery, guest room and au pair bathroom on the second floor. Our crews fully gutted and reframed the floors and walls of the front rooms, taking the opportunity of open walls to increase energy-efficiency with spray foam insulation at exposed exterior walls.
On the second floor, our designer was able to create a new bath in what was the sitting area outside the rear bedroom. A door from the hallway opens to the new bedroom/bathroom suite – perfect for guests or an au pair. This bathroom is also in keeping with the crisp black and white theme. The black geometric floor tile has white grout and the classic white subway tile is used again in the shower. The white marble console vanity has a trough-style sink with two faucets. The gold used for the mirror and light fixtures add a touch of shine.
Pinnacle Design & RemodelingReferred by Barry at The Tile Shop, Landmark Remodeling and PID transformed this comically outdated space into a stunning retreat. We even paid homage to the LOVE tiles by including their grandkids in the tub as art in the space. We had a pretty tight budget and saved money by doing furniture pieces instead of custom cabinetry and doing a fiberglass shower base instead of a tiled shower pan.
Satterberg Desonier Dumo Interior Design, Inc.In this project we took the existing tiny two fixture bathroom and remodeled the attic space to create a new full bathroom capturing space from an unused closet. The new light filled art deco bathroom achieved everything on the client's wish list.

Sledgehammer ConstructionFinished shower installation with rain head and handheld shower fixtures trimmed out. Includes the finished pebble floor tiles sloped to the square chrome shower drain. The shower doors are barn-door style, with a fixed panel on the left and operable sliding door on the right. Floor to ceiling wall tile and frameless shower doors make the space appear larger. The bathroom floor tile was replaced outside of the shower as well, with long 15x60 wood-looking porcelain tile. The shaker-style floating vanity includes long drawer hardware, and U-shaped drawers to accommodate the plumbing. All door hardware throughout the house was changed out to a black matte finish

UserOn a quiet street in Clifton a Georgian townhouse has undergone a stunning transformation. Inside, our designer Tim was tasked with creating three functional and inviting bathrooms. A key aspect of the brief was storage, as the bathrooms needed to stand up to every day family life whilst still maintaining the luxury aesthetic of the period property. The family bathroom cleverly conceals a boiler behind soft blue paneling while the shower is enclosed with an innovative frameless sliding screen allowing a large showering space without compromising the openness of the space. The ensuite bathroom with floating sink unit with built in storage and solid surface sink offers both practical storage and easy cleaning. On the top floor a guest shower room houses a generous shower with recessed open shelving and another practical floating vanity unit with integrated sink.
Zapata Design, LLCLovely bathroom space was transformed for three generations. It includes heated floors and ease of use.
Progressive Design BuildThis downstairs bathroom was designed with beautiful sleek contemporary finishes. It features a dual floating vanity with recessed-style dark gray cabinets and chrome handles. The same custom faux backsplash used in the upstairs bathroom is used in this space for consistency, along with a lower open shelf and under cabinet lighting.
DesignbyRuchiThis is the kids bathroom and I wanted it to be playful. Adding geometry and pattern in the floor makes a bold fun statement. I used enhances subway tile with beautiful matte texture in two colors. I tiled the tub alcove dark blue with a full length niche for all the bath toys that accumulate. In the rest of the bathroom, I used white tiles. The custom Lacava vanity with a black open niche makes a strong statement here and jumps off against the white tiles.
I converted this bathroom from a shower to a tub to make it a kids bathroom. One of my favourite details here is the niche running the full length of the tub for the unlimited toys kids need to bring with them. The black schluter detail makes it more defined and draws the eye in. When they grow up, this bathroom stays cool enough for teenagers and always fun for guests.
Sha Studio Inc.A 'slow-designed' bathroom that places importance on using sustainable materials while supporting the community at large. It is our belief that beautiful bathrooms don't have to cost our earth. Our goal with this project was to use materials that were kinder to our planet while still offering a design impact through aesthetics. We scouted for tile suppliers who are conscious of their environmental impact and found a Canadian maker of the terrazzo tile. It is a mix of marble, granite and natural stone aggregate hand cast in a cement base. We then paired that with a ceramic tile, one of the most eco-friendly options and partnered with local tradespeople to craft this highly functional and statement-making bathroom.
Morey Remodeling GroupUrban farmhouse bathroom added to back of home. The homeowner wanted more space to entertain family and friends in her home. Morey Remodeling accomplished this by adding a second bedroom with bathroom to the back of the house and remodeling the kitchen, living room and master bathroom.

Progressive Design BuildNow separate from the master bathroom, this new stunning guest bathroom dares to impress with its impressive walk-in shower designed with an Aura Shell accent wall, Tesoro tile surround, and a raindrop tile floor. Adding to the contemporary feel is the functional, frameless rolling shower door.
Other striking features include a large mirror with built-in lighting and a built-in vanity using the same Dura Supreme cabinetry used in the master bathroom.
