The previous dining area is now the music room by moving the piano here. This alcove, off the living room, now had a purpose that related more to the seating. The chairs could be swiveled to face someone playing the piano. The artwork and corner cabinet locations were not changed.

The homeowners had recently gone through a large renovation where they added onto the existing house and upgraded all the finishes when we were hired to design two of their childrens' bedrooms. We went on create the entire dining room and living room designs. We sourced furniture and accessories for the foyer and put the finishing touches on many other rooms throughout the house. In this project, we were lucky to have clients with great taste and an exciting design aesthetic. Interior Design by Rachael Liberman and Photos by Arclight Images

Our second project for this thatched cottage (approx age: 250 years old) was all the reception rooms. The colour palette had been set by the kitchen project and it was our task to create synergy between the rooms but, as one room leads on to another, create distinctive areas. As the relaxing sitting room existed, we could turn the living room into a cinema room, with large TV and 5.1 surround sound system. We chose a darker grey and harmonious colour palette for an optimum viewing scenario.
And, thanks to the length of the room, we were also able to create a nook for listening to music, with interesting artwork and a place for the owner's unique valve amp. Storage needs were solved with mid-century modern sideboards and a bespoke slimline shelf under the TV made from eclipsia marble.

Concrete floors, exposed brick, and 2nd floor metal walkways are mixed with comfortable furniture to add contrast between hard and soft. The living room is the clients favorite place to show off their unique collectables.

Spire North
When integrating technology into this Northern Michigan home, Spire embraced the ‘Up North’ design and made sure the technology did not compromise the aesthetic of the home. A custom stone-colored finish was added to the Meridian DSP5200 speakers to blend perfectly with the living room’s stone fireplace. Above the fireplace, a stunning Frame TV by Samsung transforms into a beautiful artwork piece when the TV is not on. B&W in-ceiling and in-wall speakers were placed throughout the house and garage, delivering ambient music with no visual footprint. Photos by Jessie Zevalkink.
