A pergola for shade, refurbished decking, and a new cable railing became the answers to these problems. We began by removing the worn railings and sanding the deck. The clients chose the green and budget-friendly option of sanding the boards to like-new condition in place of expensive deck replacement. Once the decking was refurbished, we built the pergola and installed the cable railing.
Enrich Interiors
The deck had a pergola erected, with a clearlight product installed above the pergola. Stained slats were attached underneath the pergola to create visual interest and give some shade and dappled light comes through into the lounge area in the late afternoon. The south wall has slats applied to give shelter from wind.
Archadeck of Northeast Dallas
Where many builders may have just suggested the addition of another hardscape space, Archadeck thinks outside the box. Inevitably, it is feasible that just adding another patio to the same area could lead to the same uplift or cracking down the road due to the roots of the trees present on, and surrounding the property. It is even a safe bet that other builders may have even suggested the tree located in the backyard be removed to ensure no future encroachment. Our designers realized the ambiance, shade and beauty the tree provided to not only the backyard but also to the home. We also know that installing another patio was just not the solution. Factoring each element and listening to the homeowner’s desires carefully, and thoughtfully, we suggested a new deck addition instead.

To make matters worse, the decking and railings were in poor condition and required maintenance.
We were asked to provide a solution for a deck that was often unusable and a view that was frequently blocked.

We built this new deck in Hilliard, OH, with low-maintenance composite decking from the TimberTech PRO Tropical collection in the beautiful Amazon Mist color. For their new railing system, the homeowners selected white vinyl railings and black aluminum pickets from the Ohio-based Mt. Hope Fence brand. For a cohesive design, they chose a TimberTech rail cap to match the decking. Not only is their new deck surface made with low-maintenance materials, so are the railings.

This spacious and eye-catching pergola design in Brentwood, TN is all wood. The flowing staircase welcomes weary pool patrons onto the double-deck for relaxation and respite.
Archadeck of Birmingham
Archadeck of Birmingham built a free-standing deck around this pool and extended the deck opposite the house to create a lounge area under a large pergola. We built the deck with pressure-treated pine and the pergola with cedar. The railing, which extends the length of the deck and the pergola, is all aluminum.
