Paying homage to the history of this small cottage in the heart of Kemsing we have implemented a focal point log burner with a salvaged fire surround, old style bricks that fit contextually with the buildings' brick and peg tiles.
We've mixed esaplier Apple, pleached Hornbeam, Hydrangea, Viburnum, Abelia and various perennials appropriate to the setting including Lupin, Salvia, Hollyhock and Erigeron.

Completed in 2003, this garden in Highland Park, Texas featured a dramatic transformation into a wonderful intimate garden. The existing pool was renovated with all new coping and stone veneer and an end portion of the pool was enclosed to create a koi pond with aquatic plants. A glass panel was installed between the pool and koi pond to allow the swimmers to submerge themselves and see into the koi area. The rest of the garden featured lush landscaping which included shade loving plants and mint was planted in between the step stones for a soft feel. Completed with Naud Burnett & Partners.
Arbordale Landscaping
We turned this pedestrian Leaside backyard upside down! We added a stone patio complete with a firepit and lounge area which is covered by giant umbrella. A custom rough hewn beam pergola was painted black to contrast the custom stainless steel shoes and connector plates and placed over the new dining area and custom buffet. The buffet has a Corten steel decorative panel behind with white plexiglass and lighting for a dramatic dining experience. Horizontal fencing surrounds the backyard and the style carries through to both gates. Natural stone steppingstones and borders add contrast and frame the different sections of the yard. Playful informal plantings give the garden a sense of whimsy. The back porch was created for barbecuing with glass railings to not disturb the view from inside the home and contains a large storage space underneath.

This garden space emphasizes plant textures, colorful foliage and quirky decorative elements. The heart of the garden is the elevated deck that perches over a rain garden, where stormwater from the roof is allowed to collect during the rainy months. Curvilinear paver pathways were installed to gently contrast against the soft plant textures. A sturdy structure was built to protect firewood and showcase quirky travel souvenirs.
Nature's Design
This back yard which includes many edibles on a open wire mesh fence has as it's core a brick patio in the shape of a fish with the stepping stones that go through a net or web shaped lawn that simulate bubbles from the top of the "fish". A very whimsical design replete a small playhouse/garden shed in the back.

A photo of 'Miss Violet' in the landscape. This plant is dwarf-compact with rich dark purple-violet blooms. 'Miss Violet' flowers in the summer and grows best in full sun.
Seasons in Colour
Danetti Palermo corner bench in grey and Palermo coffee table. In this photo the bench is used as two separate units. The back garden was designed to include a round deck and lawn area and is surrounded by a stone path, a further flower patch and a natural green fence. Outdoors cushions by Penelope Hope, new for SS18. In the back two large ash trees are providing shade in the Spring summer. Two younger ash trees were removed to avoid overcrowding or entirely blocking the sun. The shed is painted in Green Smoke (Little Greene) while the bistro set is painted in Cuprinol Garden Shades Berry and Emerald.
The outdoors rug is from IKEA.
