This home’s focal point is its gorgeous three-story center staircase. The staircase features continuous custom-made raised panel wainscoting on the walls throughout each of the three stories. Consisting of red oak hardwood flooring, the staircase has an oak banister painted posts. The outside tread features a scallop detail. This light and airy home in Chadds Ford, PA, was a custom home renovation for long-time clients that included the installation of red oak hardwood floors, the master bedroom, master bathroom, two powder rooms, living room, dining room, study, foyer and staircase. remodel included the removal of an existing deck, replacing it with a beautiful flagstone patio. Each of these spaces feature custom, architectural millwork and custom built-in cabinetry or shelving. A special showcase piece is the continuous, millwork throughout the 3-story staircase. All of the original staircase details were kept and were a source of inspiration for the rest of the home’s design. A jute carpet climbs along both staircases, providing a lasting and warm accent to the space and highlighting the stunning architecture.

Total update of whole house staircase from 90’s oak to updated 2020 style. We utilized the existing treads and sprayed them with a conversion varnish. New carpet runners were installed to give it better ease of use for the family. Beautiful new railing, newel posts, and metal ballisters make this staircase a stunning showpiece of the home.

Special care was taken by Century Stair Company to build the architect's and owner's vision of a craftsman style three-level staircase in a bright and airy floor plan with soaring 19'curved/cathedral ceilings and exposed beams. The stairs furnished the rustic living space with warm oak rails and modern vertical black/satin balusters. Century built a freestanding stair and landing between the second and third level to adapt and to maintain the home's livability and comfort.
