The indoor outdoor layout of this tropical retreat creates the perfect ambiance for backyard entertaining. Sliding glass doors pocket into either side of the open living room, master bedroom, and dining so all the spaces become one in this tropical design. The white patio furniture creates comfortable spaces for lounging poolside and the orange lanai cushions give a nod to the ocean with their fun coral print.

View of the pool from the Florida room, it touches the edge of each of the rear rooms becoming part of the house. Every room allows for indoor/outdoor use with the pool as the centerpiece.

This project combines high end earthy elements with elegant, modern furnishings. We wanted to re invent the beach house concept and create an home which is not your typical coastal retreat. By combining stronger colors and textures, we gave the spaces a bolder and more permanent feel. Yet, as you travel through each room, you can't help but feel invited and at home.

Backyard corner, We had to deal with a septic field, and designed this space accordingly. The corner is anchored with ‘Black Stockings’ ornamental grass. ‘Black Stockings’ has beautiful wide leaves that are a deep purple in color which reflex gracefully on a vase shaped plant that quickly stands out in a landscape. Black Stockings Fountain Grass is a fine choice for the garden, but it is also a good selection for planting in outdoor pots and containers. Because of its height, it is often used as a 'thriller' in the 'spiller-thriller-filler' container combination; plant it near the center of the pot, surrounded by smaller plants and those that spill over the edges. It is even sizeable enough that it can be grown alone in a suitable container. Note that when growing plants in outdoor containers and baskets, they may require more frequent waterings than they would in the yard or garden. I have Black Stockings Fountain Grass in two Italian jumbo clay pots at my front entrance and their roots have totally taken over the pots. So this leads me to believe this ornamental grass would be great from erosion control.
