Hibbs HomesFrom the exposed rough-hewn timber beams on the ceiling to the custom built-in bookcases with storage and wet bar flanking the fireplace - this room is luxury and comfort from top to bottom. The direct vent fireplace features a custom waterfall-style mantle, with a herringbone tile sourced by the homeowner. The industrial farmhouse chandelier in the hearth room is a stunner also sourced by the homeowner.

Rudloff Custom BuildersThe light filled, step down family room has a custom, vaulted tray ceiling and double sets of French doors with aged bronze hardware leading to the patio. Tucked away in what looks like a closet, the built-in home bar has Sub-Zero drink drawers. The gorgeous Rumford double-sided fireplace (the other side is outside on the covered patio) has a custom-made plaster moulding surround with a beige herringbone tile insert.

Factor Design BuildMany people can’t see beyond the current aesthetics when looking to buy a house, but this innovative couple recognized the good bones of their mid-century style home in Golden’s Applewood neighborhood and were determined to make the necessary updates to create the perfect space for their family.
In order to turn this older residence into a modern home that would meet the family’s current lifestyle, we replaced all the original windows with new, wood-clad black windows. The design of window is a nod to the home’s mid-century roots with modern efficiency and a polished appearance. We also wanted the interior of the home to feel connected to the awe-inspiring outside, so we opened up the main living area with a vaulted ceiling. To add a contemporary but sleek look to the fireplace, we crafted the mantle out of cold rolled steel. The texture of the cold rolled steel conveys a natural aesthetic and pairs nicely with the walnut mantle we built to cap the steel, uniting the design in the kitchen and the built-in entryway.
Everyone at Factor developed rich relationships with this beautiful family while collaborating through the design and build of their freshly renovated, contemporary home. Design WestIn the great room, the focal wall features a gas fireplace with a precast surround set in white stacked stone. Carpentry clad boxes fashioned in wood tones match the finishes in the room. Woven grasscloth on the wall behind them gives depth to the open-backed, round-edged boxes. Lighting only the vertical boxes and floating the entire unit adds more dimension. A sectional from E.J. Victor in a neutral fabric, and a pair of leather and fabric sloped-arm Vanguard club chairs all have a low profile so as not to interfere with the view of the backyard and beyond. Hickory White end tables are finished in platinum gray. The Vanguard tufted ottoman with metal base and wood inlay is centered atop a wool and silk patterned area rug by Kravet.
