This real working cattle ranch has a real stone masonry fireplace, with custom handmade wrought iron doors. The TV is covered by a painting, which rolls up inside the frame when the games are on. All the A.V equipment is in the hand scraped custom stained and glazed walnut cabinetry. Rustic Pine walls are glazed for an aged look, and the chandelier is handmade, custom wrought iron. All the comfortable furniture is new custom designed to look old. Mantel is a log milled from the ranch. This rustic working walnut ranch in the mountains features natural wood beams, real stone fireplaces with wrought iron screen doors, antiques made into furniture pieces, and a tree trunk bed. All wrought iron lighting, hand scraped wood cabinets, exposed trusses and wood ceilings give this ranch house a warm, comfortable feel. The powder room shows a wrap around mosaic wainscot of local wildflowers in marble mosaics, the master bath has natural reed and heron tile, reflecting the outdoors right out the windows of this beautiful craftman type home. The kitchen is designed around a custom hand hammered copper hood, and the family room's large TV is hidden behind a roll up painting. Since this is a working farm, their is a fruit room, a small kitchen especially for cleaning the fruit, with an extra thick piece of eucalyptus for the counter top. Control of the interior lighting allows one to set the ambience for listening to musical performances. Each instrument is connected to the Audio Distribution system so everyone may enjoy the performance; no mater where they are in the house. Audio controls allow precise volume adjustments of incoming and outgoing signals. Automatic shades protect the furnishings from sun damage and works with the Smart Thermostat to keep the environment at the right temperature all-year round. Freezing temperature sensors ensure the fireplace automatically ignites just in case the HVAC lost power or broke down. Contact sensors on the windows and door work with the home weather station to determine if windows/doors need to be closed when raining; not to mention the primary use with the security system to detect unwanted intruders.

This kitchen was inspired by a french countryside cottage. We used traditional design elements, warm worn finishes, along with french industrial lighting fixtures to bring a magical element to this space. Bright patterns, bold pops of color, and unique trim details bring life to the living space. Photography: Alyssa Lee Photography

We remodeled the exisiting fireplace with a heavier mass of stone and waxed steel plate frame. The stone fireplace wall is held off the new TV/media cabinet with a steel reveal. The hearth is floating Ceasarstone that matches the adjacent open kitchen countertop.

Cozy bright greatroom with coffered ceiling detail. Beautiful south facing light comes through Pella Reserve Windows (screens roll out of bottom of window sash). This room is bright and cheery and very inviting. We even hid a remote shade in the beam closest to the windows for privacy at night and shade if too bright.

The existing cedar ceiling was re-finished. Beams and boards divide up the ceiling to add detail and interest. The beams run into custom brackets with black metal detailing that reflect the slope of the ceiling on the sides of the room. The existing fireplace was re-finished with non-grouted vineyard granite ashlar and a new oak mantel. Custom cabinets were built on both sides of the fireplace to provide storage and conceal the entertainment system. Photo by Daniel Contelmo Jr.
