The owner wanted to change the interior of their home from mid-90s transitional to a French/Tuscan eclectic/farm/rustic look. She had a photo of the perfect look, so we incorporated elements from the picture in different ways. Adding reclaimed wood to the family room opening, and repeating the element on the custom range hood, adding stone veneer and a banquette to the turret-shaped breakfast nook, wrought iron details, a hint of cerulean blue in the open cabinet sections, rustic random size tile floor, and other visual elements. Custom color paint and glaze cabinetry provides a serene background. We needed to make space for a lot of appliances--Sub Zero 36" all-refrigerator, Sub Zero drawer freezer (island), oven, steam oven, warming drawer, microwave and coffee system--didn't allow for much cabinetry in the room, so we made every inch count in the kitchen, and expanded the pantry to a walk-through, and included a mini office. This is the kitchen-side entry to the walk-through pantry. Reclaimed paneling on the right wall is the same as the ceiling detail in the family room. Shelving on this side of the room holds dry goods and other prep-foods, while the balance of the room has small appliances, a full-size refrig/freezer, and a mini office.

A tiny kitchen that was redone with what we all wish for storage, storage and more storage. The design dilemma was how to incorporate the existing flooring and wallpaper the client wanted to preserve. The kitchen is a combo of both traditional and transitional element thus becoming a neat eclectic kitchen. The wood finish cabinets are natural Alder wood with a clear finish while the main portion of the kitchen is a fantastic olive-green finish. for a cleaner look the countertop quartz has been used for the backsplash as well. This way no busy grout lines are present to make the kitchen feel heavier and busy.

EVERY movable component is soft close, including draws, cupboards and pantries - creating a quiet and durable kitchen space. This kitchen recently took top spot in the NZ German kitchen awards for best renovation! Every aspect of the room was overhauled, and the finished product is stunning (see "before:124097" picture).. Key features: The island offers a huge amount of storage, with impressive 1200mm wide draws on the rear of the island, and draws on the inside. The large stone and large single bowl allows the island to entertain for large groups, and creates a functional and practical work space. The over head cupboards are bi folding, and a full height pull out pantry provide even more storage. A custome made 1200mm wide Ilve oven further enhances the unique deign of the kitchen, and represents the clients true love for cooking an entertaining! The kitchen has been designed with a the Nobilia seamless handles, and provides a very linear and minimalist visual, which complement the stunning timber ceiling and tiles floor.

This exceptional family home on the Upper North Shore has been designed for all year round entertaining. The home flows easily from the front entrance through the open plan living rooms through to the kitchen and outdoor living areas. The kitchen has been cleverly divided to provide additional storage and allows room for a sizable, walk-in butler’s pantry. Fitted with an additional sink means food can be prepared and dishes stored out of sight when entertaining. Gitani Stone, Ancient Reef island bench, Sareen Stone mosaic splashback and pewter handles transform what is predominantly a white kitchen into a vibrant living and working space. Practicality and ease of use were a must for this kitchen: custom cabinetry was designed and manufactured in Art of Kitchens Mt Kuring-gai factory and fitted with the latest Blum internal hardware. Miele appliances are featured throughout the kitchen. The kitchen is beautifully lit with a combination of ambient, task, and general lighting: natural light streams through the large windows and french doors, LED ceiling lights enhance the natural lighting and under cabinet lighting provides task lighting. Art of Kitchens completed the interior kitchen, outdoor kitchen, bathrooms and custom bedroom joinery in this brand new Upper North Shore Meadowbank Home.
