An eclectic, modern, and a little edgy take on a gender neutral nursery. We used a mostly neutral palette with whites and grays to set tone for the space. Then we warmed up the space with a gorgeous dark sage green dresser, copper accents, and burnt orange tones while still maintaining the light and airy feel. The client was an avid art appreciator, so we included some standout pieces by contemporary artists like Murakami and Kaws. Design by Little Crown Interiors, Photo by Full Spectrum Photography.

A daybed and furry stools serve as a foundation for one wall of this soothing nursery designed for both a new baby and his parents. Functional and beautiful furniture will grow with the child and fun patterns and textures will stimulate his senses as he explores his new space! Photo: Benjamin Johnston

Originally a home office, this space was converted into a dreamy nursery. The design began with a whimsical wallpaper, primarily neutral with subtle pinks and turquoise. The gender of the baby was to be a surprise, so the design remained gender neutral, focusing on texture and pattern rather than a traditional color scheme. Amy Bartlam

This room was fun to design. With birds that visit the room with only leaving the door open and inspired us to create a concept with birdcages, trees, whites, pink and baby furniture, a reading corner inside her little house and mirror windows that bring nature inside Rolando Diaz & Bluemoon Filmworks

My son's nursery, taken several years ago! Nurseries are so fun to design. I didn't want a theme (jungle, ocean, etc) - just something happy but simple with a hint of mod, and this fit the bill! Materials used: Skip Hop "Mod Dot" bedding, purchased online (now available for under $100 sans bumpers); Crib is Carter's "Sleep Haven" crib, purchased at Babies R Us. Artwork is Inhabit stretched wall art, "Giggle" in cornflower (middle), and "Laugh," also in cornflower, but can be purchased in other colors. Paint is Behr, "Harmonious," sold at The Home Depot. "Expedit" bookcases from IKEA (2) turned on their sides. Rug also from IKEA. Rocking chair purchased on Amazon. Changing table came with crib, free of charge (deal at time of crib purchase).
