This centrally located intersection to a main thoroughfare a block away was a concern because of the corner lot visibility issue for cars making a turn driving in either direction. The Quince tree bloomed annually for just a short time and was originally planted by the prior home owners decades ago. Keeping it maintained to a height of 4’ maximum, dictated for safety reasons, was still obstructing and limiting the visibility of oncoming traffic at this busy intersection. The existing roses planted in the same space as the Quince were a perfect backdrop to the new perennials and annuals planted to paint this corner with flowers. The project also included expanding the beautification to both corner areas in coordination with several other planting areas already seasonally updated on the property. With the Redwood Tree as a focal point and Roses, Daphnes, Iris, Azaleas, Fuchsias, Hydrangeas and Camilias highlighting the planting beds the addition of color, including around the driveway and side entrance, transformed the entire space. This awesome shade oak tree was in a bare spot in the backyard and needed to be featured. We installed a large planting bed around it and then framed it out to mirror and pull through the new custom stone pathways.

This was a complete garden redo. We installed a brand new horizontal fence and stained black, install stucco raised beds with a floating bench flanked by planter beds. All the raised beds were topped with a beautiful flag stone cats. The patio service was redone and pavers. Landscape lighting was installed as a place on the trees and down lights underneath the bench for a dramatic affect during the evening.

Midnight Mexican bush sage/Salvia leucantha 'Midnight'. This front garden with low-water Mediterranean plants in shades of green replaced a thisty lawn and beautifully complements the transitional style home. New concrete pavers provide a clear, attractive entry as well as “landing spots” along the the driveway.

Adding a pop of color and texture to the front yard with flowers and shrubs makes this front entrance more inviting- these shrubs will grow and fill in the space even more, and the ever-beautiful salvia plant as bookends for this garden bed will add height and color.

Redesign of an outdated backyard surrounding pool. We used lush shade tolerant shrubs, perennials and ferns surrounding the pool. We did a butterfly attractor area in the back sunny corner. They wanted a low maintenance lush style and we were able to utilize existing beds to keep the costs down. Turned out beautifully and caladiums have not even popped up yet.

This Highland Park home on Westway was built in 1929 and loaded with character. The homeowner was looking to remodel the pool but wanted to know if they should consider a redesign that included removal of the old pool and coming back with a new pool and landscape that was cohesive. They opted for the latter and this is the result. A more modern pool to transition the style a little, a new fire pit for the family to enjoy and a lot more usable space.
