Our bathroom Reno

Hi there we are literally about to start a bathroom Reno/ overhaul in the next few days and are still not sold on the layout which will look the best but mostly work the best! We want a freestanding bath to be the star of the show but everything else to still flow and work together! Any ideas would be a huge help as our drafts person was not a big help:( thanks in advance!

Would it be possible to put the bath under the window, rather than having so much all at one end of the room? I would also increase the size of the shower screen as I don't think it is wide enough & you are likely to get a lot of water splatter. Have you thought of increasing the size of the mirror so that it runs the entire length of the vanity? We have recently done this in our ensuite & it looks fabulous. It helps to make the room look larger than it actually is. We had our mirror sit flush with the tiles & put a timber look laminated shelf running along the bottom of the mirror. Anyway, hope that helps. I will try & upload an image of our ensuite so you can see what I mean.

Do you want this to be a big reno? meaning, will you replace things totally or do you want to work with what you have mostly? will you add a toilet to the bathroom? if you replace the vanity, you can put in a larger one curving around the corner with a medicine cabinet above. If you replace the shower with one flat on the ground, you can also put in clear doors for bigger visual space. how about re-painting as well

Yes, I had noticed a lot of pics on Houzz, that's what gave me the idea! I certainly wouldn't put it IN the shower! We have a tiled shower, but the tiles only go as high as the glass surrounds, so there is about 30cm of painted wall above the shower, which is the part I was worried about with steam etc.

We have just scraped together to buy our first home, everything is liveable, but it does have some of its 70s originals which I can mostly deal with but would like to do a little diy on the bathroom to be able to enjoy it a bit more until we can afford a full on reno. Any suggestion is on what we could do with this? Yes, the Lino is diabolical but it runs right through the laundry into the pink kitchen so will have to consider a few things before replacing this! TIA :)

I'm looking for a vinyl flooring, for a bathroom renovation. Something patterned in an encaustic tile style or similar, grey or pale tones. Is there anywhere in NZ - a few found at Flooringxtra, but would like some more options - or suggestions. I would also consider a white with black design. The shower floor will be either in white - or possibly pale grey tile.
