Layout my kitchen!
Comments (15)The first thing I require each of my clients to do before even starting the design layout is to choose their appliances. Your kitchen designer will need the manufacturer's specifications to know what size to make the cabinets to accommodate them. Be aware that there is required distances needed around and island, typically 36" up to 48" depending on placements of appliances. This will dictate the size and shape of the island. Clean lines, simplicity, innovative materials like glass countertops, exotic woods or Italian veneer slab doors, flip or lift up doors can add unexpected touches to a modern/ contemporary space. Comments (0)This two stage renovation included opening up the back of the villa for a large new living areas, and renovating the front of the house for a garage and more formal landscaping to the street. The villa needed some TLC, so bedrooms and other existing villa spaces were refurbished using traditional villa details. A pavilion style extension was added to the rear of the villa, to house a new kitchen, dining and living area, media room and study. A large deck flows out from the living areas and connects the house with a generous, private outdoor play area. A separate laundry/scullery and new bathroom were inserted into the villa where it meets the addition, and an ensuite/walk-in wardrobe was added to the master bedroom. Comments (0)so we are renovating the kitchen/laundry area and need some advice about the layout. It’s quite a large space, and I’ve leant towards the current layout and adding a window to the side wall where that cupboard is. But I love the idea of a sink at the window, and also think the sloping ceiling would look better with the sink on that wall. Removing ranch slider. measurements for that wall into laundry (behind fridge) are 6200 long, 1500 wide. Current opening is 800 and the kitchen is 4350 Along the back wall. Any recommendations for layout?...See MoreKatie
