The photo gives a bit of an idea , but an inside shot would really be needed , plus an idea of your favourite things . Probably the two best guesses would be art on the walls , and/or plants . Plants would only work if it 2 metres or more deep , but boy could you have fun , with different coloured leaves , textures , heights , leafy plants , cactuses , all sorts . A marble statue or a rock water feature depending on style and taste . Art is more personal -- family photos may be important to you , or you may like WW2 planes , or large colourful abstracts may suit your tastes and draw looks . Other things like a wallpapered feature wall , even timber may work , but you need to suss out what suits YOU -- unless you want a home and garden magazine clone .

Our clients came to us explaining that their home was just not working for their growing family. They loved their home but the living area was a long narrow space from the lounge through the kitchen, the children shared bedrooms and everyone in the family needed space of their own. Tailored Building Solutions undertook a site visit to chat with our client, addressing their main wants and needs, and what their compromises were. The musts were: Open plan living, the children needed their own bedrooms, and ideally a separate laundry and pantry. Tailored Building Solutions worked closely with our architect to achieve these wants and what had been to date only dreams. Utilising the space the family already had, but cleverly pushing up the home to another floor, the end project speaks for itself. Not only did we manage to create a beautiful indoor/outdoor flow, an open plan living space but also an additional bedroom on the same level. We also created the owners a beautiful new master suite, encompassing beautiful views of the ocean and valley. From design to the finished home the owners are LOVING the result. Thank you for your feedback. Personal taste will always impact on how one feels about design, architecture, art, even how food is presented. When renovating to sell this needs to be considered, however one cannot meet everyone’s taste. Your comments and critique are appreciated, especially in regard to the appliances. The client has renovated for sale in the past and this particular location allowed him to be more daring with the design in particular in regard to the staircase. He was positive that he would get the return on investment. We ensured that we picked the points of impact and ensured all other costs were minimized by updating ceiling, wall and flooring finishes with cost effective materials that are aesthetically pleasing and hard wearing. By making necessary repairs and updates, one can improve the property's overall appearance, functionality, and appeal, making it more attractive to a larger pool of potential buyers, as well as being able to set a higher asking price and have more leverage during negotiations with potential buyers. We do not believe that a paint job alone and sharing the ideas with the new owner would have assisted our client in making the best return on his investment.
