Help - which curtain heading?

Hello

I'm looking for curtains for a sqaure bay window in bedroom and have no clue as to which curtain heading to go for, I would prefer a modern style if possible but not one that looks cheap. Does anyone recommend any? Does anyone actually care/notice what type you have?

I bet the only person that would notice would be a seamstress or designer ! Most people would be more interested in talking to you and catching up !!

Thanks OnePlan, very true! Also, it's in the bedroom so no-one will see it and I don't have any interior designer friends so I'm safe there! I should re-post and and ask the question 'What does my curtain heading say about me' haha.

This is a really awkward space! What about trying to build a unit into the corner which seems to be dead space. This could house the television and other bits like dvr,amp etc. The unit could then extend out towards the door in length and in height either up to the start of the window or up to the start of the blinds. I would suggest drawers for toy storage and books above. In this way you leave the windows clear for light plus it looks like you have a pull down screen so the tv would be out of the way of that. This arrangement would also hide all those wires and cables! I'd like to suggest that the most important thing here is more about who is using the room. If It's a child's bedroom use lovely children's curtains - there's so much around and any pattern could pick up the wall and floor colours. If a guest room and not used often I'd suggest a beautiful velvet or good quality Linen and forbid the little ones from going in to that room!!!!!! alternately a blind attached at floor level could be raised or lowered so the view is still there but with privacy from waist height perhaps. Hi Jennifer K, thanks for your comments. The photos you have posted are really lovely but not really suited to our environment and house, which I know is impossible to tell from one photo. We have built a modern farmhouse on 10 acres. That room looks out to beautiful green countryside and the river below. The dining room is a bit of a feature and is completely different to the rest of our relaxed lodgey style house but I don't want it to be too modern, if that makes sense. The photos have given me a few ideas so thank you so much for your help!

I also agree. In my bedroom I have triple pleat, only I notice and barely at that. I'd just have standard in the future.

The curtain style gives a subtle difference but is one that can still elevate a room! A wave pleat is a good modern option as it creates a boutique style with uniform pleats using a wave track system.

A sail pleat is also a popular option as it uses less fabric and has a simple heading, but is still very elegant.

A pinch or double/triple pleat gives a bit more of a classic look. We hope this helps! :)

Hiya,

Although not the be all and end all, curtain headings change the way curtains hang and so can change things like how a pattern or texture appears.

Just as London Essentials has suggested, a wave pleat would be a brilliant option. Here's an example of how they look:
