We have a Doberman pup and we don’t know what to do with our garden. We want it to be Pet Safe and also Safe for Kids. Our garden is really big. We have 2 large trees and 5 fruit trees.
Hi... we are just coming out the other side of the puppy stage with a German Shepherd. I'm not sure if a Doberman would be the same but our puppy loved 'landscaping', digging and 'playing' (destroying) with pathways hubby had created with river rock and step stones.... so don't use those materials until your dog is showing signs of not caring about things like that! Kids and puppies alike will love a yard that has a variety of interesting things.... think winding pathways (use pavers if you don't want something permanent like concrete) amongst some dog friendly and child friendly plants and trees... a sandpit..... maybe a raised veggie garden for your kids that Pup can't get into and 'harvest' for you lol. Some native trees and a bird bath might entice some birds and butterflies into your garden for your kids to admire :) Check out Better Homes and Gardens show from Friday night... they did up a fantastic backyard for 2 little ones which included timber looking cubby houses.
