It's refreshing to see nautical, navy BLUE. Everyone is saying the same thing for the most part - just introduce another color, definitely bright (yellow or orange IMO) and it will make it more current. What I really like is how your style will withstand the test of time - and with minor updates now and then it will always look fresh and "current".

If you think hitting the lamps could be an issue, just move them a bit and add some low accessories (opposite sides to pic below). It's better to have a bit larger lamps and with your ceiling height anything shorter would look skimpy and they don't overwhelm the bedside tables once you balance with something above the bed. Just a thought...if you accessorize your bedding with some soft colors, they will also help to compliment the glass and crystal. You could even change the hardware to a silver.

Hi Jacky, What a great start to your room! Mustard is a really versatile colour and you can do so much with it. To help with what else to use there are a few other things to take into account. What sort of flooring do you have? How much light comes in? How big is the room? What sort of bedding configuration will there be? What will the bedroom be used for - a guest room or for family? Apart from rustic, how you want it to feel - relaxed and calming or fun and edgy for example. Are there any other colours that you have used a lot in the rest of the house? Thinking about all those things can get you heading in the right direction for a whole room look and colour scheme that you will love.

I love trunks! Add such character..hope you can keep yours. One of mine is a military chest brought out with my great grandfather when he emigrated to South Africa, all he had was in it..in 1892, age 19. He had 10 children. We emigrated to NZ with it 20 years ago..our history with it. Could never sell that one!!! I found an example of what I think would work under the tv..now to afford it ha ha!.
