For me, your bedroom is missing two things - style cohesion and texture. For starters, I would replace the white pillow with two of these: [houzz=] Your bedside lamps are nice, but now with the gray comforter they need a new style: [houzz=] There's an outlet right where a headboard would go, so instead, I like this art over your bed: [houzz=] or if you prefer some color and something quirky: [houzz=] For curtains, see if you like any of these: [houzz=] or [houzz=] or [houzz=] For nightstands, try these: [houzz=] If you decide to paint your wall charcoal gray, be sure to add art with color behind the bed.

Tess, I hope I'm not too late with the following advice. Don't ever paint brick. Your house is a simple design, exterior wise. Paint wont fix it. What's missing is a designed garden. Even the simplest brick house can look like an inviting, lived in home when it has a structured garden surrounding it. For less than the price of paint, invest in a landscaper to design a garden that will soften and greatly enhance your homes street appeal ...and add many $ in value. Painted brick detracts from value and has to be repainted periodically, defeating the purpose of brick, which is, no maintenance. Besides, your house, painted white or cream as has been suggested here, would stand out in the street like a proverbial sore thumb. Trust me, landscape, starting at the street boundary and leave the bricks alone. Good luck.

The setting is quite tropical, so a darker scheme with white trims has such a tropical holiday feel. You may consider using a concrete face brick for the lower section. A very simple layout keeping the floor space within the kitchen, the WIP takes up a lot of space with not much gain, The broom cupboard could be moved to the Laundry/entrance, narrow. If the wall has been bumped out to the eaves on the deck side giving an extra 300 depth to the kitchen you could make the island 2700 x 1200 and all drawers. The wall of narrow pantry will hold all pantry needs and more, no deep cupboards to dig into. cheers
