Beautiful clean modern kitchen! You have a great opportunity to put your personal stamp on the space with a unique backsplash. As you've heard already there are some different approaches. I'd probably place the backsplash up to the wall cabinets and up to the base of the hood. Then continue the backsplash at the same height (18"?) behind the sink. Then place an inspiring colorful picture above the sink to break up the wall. Here's a picture with pendants that aren't too obtrusive. Having multiple levels of lighting at different lumens makes a more inviting feel to the space. I couldn't decipher your flooring, but you may also want to consider adding some nature elements like a type of wood flooring, wood stools, etc. Good luck! I like your plan but I don't think a pattern on the bed wall is a good idea. The carpet already has a lot of pattern so I'd keep that wall a solid, dark color, from the rug. Add some sparkle like mercury lamps for the bedside tables for interest.

Sorry, don't think it fits, The prongs on the light give it a more circular shape but you have this over a beautiful oblong bench. Always rectangular or oblong over rectangular. And the dark ends of the bulbs will create shadows, not so good in a work space. Used to work in lighting for a few years and it always comes down to what makes you happy. I would have tried to steer you in a different direction, Hope this helps.

My last household purchase was new sliding doors to the outside from my dining room. This then led to the building of a deck, new railing on said deck and existing terrace, new blinds as the old window length curtains no longer did the trick, then the paving stone path to the deck from the garden gate, some new planting to accommodate that, AND outdoor lighting for what has now become an alternative entrance to the house! Oh, and painting as well. So I can liken my last purchase to a bit of a triffid - it kept growing! But SO worth it! It has added another room/space to my house, increased light and warmth, added value and created a more welcoming entrance than before. Love it!
