Do you have photos?

The photo above is after I have vacuumed and washed the floor. I’m not the only one read their product reviews and Facebook reviews.

This photo shows the marks on the boards, look ‘patchy’ told it’s in the design, it’s not it’s a flaw.

Did you see one of these floors laid before purchasing? It may be worthwhile finding another floor installed to see if it is a manufacturing fault or part of the design.

I understand that loose lay flooring is not stuck down like a traditional vinyl and that individual pieces can be lifted with a window sucker and replaced. This may make it easier to return (and replace) the pieces that are affected if it is a fault.

Or if it is actually part of the design and you hate it every time you walk into the room you could lift the whole floor, sell it on ebay and then replace it with a material that has a more consistant finish such as tiles. There are lots of engineered floating boards available with a real timber layer, but like any building product there are the cheap and nasty options and the premium options, and you get what you pay for.

This is a premium flooring, not cheap. There are many complaints for Karndean for the exact same thing, wish I’d read the reviews before purchasing. the flaws are in every board and virtually impossible to get marks out, which is the most common complaint.

We looked at the karndean product and agree it’s being sold as a premium product. hope You find a solution.

This sounds like a rare circumstance. Considering the vast numbers Karndean supply and have installed worldwide. I think you should talk directly to Karndean (if you haven't already) as they would most likely have their rep come and see what is happening here.

They’ve already been out and it seems to be more recent that the reviews have turned very negative, so I’m thinking it’s to do with the engineering of the boards. There are a lot of customers in the same boat, unable to get them clean and marked planks.

I’m so frustrated. I have the exact same problem except my rep says HE HAS NEVER HEARD OF THIS PROBLEM BEFORE. I’m just heartsick I wasted so much money on this floor.
It started with big gapping problems right away, and what seemed like the finish coming off, and it looking dirty and footprints etc. It took about 14 months to get the claim back and Karndean said the installer “misrepresented” what underpayment was used. I also found out -14 months after my initial claim-that the dirty scuff marks was not part of my original claim. They say I have to make a new claim even though Jeremy the Karndean rep discussed the appearance with the distributor, Tri States flooring. No one let me look at the claim to make sure it has all the information. I am also not allowed to see any factory test results or any other type of information pertinent to my claim. They just tell me everything checked out on their end and it is my housekeeping skills that have caused a film to develop on my floor. I have only used their products or water and Norwex cloths. It is very disheartening to constantly have a dirty scruffy looking floor in a beautiful new kitchen I have waited my whole life floor. I truly regret not reading the reviews , I regret not using a real wood or ceramic product. For buying top of the line products I got factory seconds.

Has anyone had any positive outcomes from the company?

Karndean is the absolute best on the market. The consumers complaining about ‘gapping’ unfortunately have had a poor installer install the product. My parents have a Karndean floor that’s been down for 20 years & it looks brand new.
I would go back to the retailer & complain about the sales person as they didn’t explain the product properly. No floor is scratch resistant & Karndean have a feature on their ‘looselay’ ranges called paw printing - again if the retailer did not tell you this, they didn’t do their job.

Karndean vinyl is an amazing product that gets used by commercial divisions (hospitals, restaurants, shops), residential houses & even garages.

You seem to know quite a lot about this product , and who to blame -- its almost like you work for them . . . . . . . . . . .
