Help for bedroom please
Comments (4)I think I would start with the furniture, in terms of space, given that you said it was not a large room. I would check sizing of the furniture and room, to see what would work with the bed, a couch, the wardrobe and any other furniture that you'll be using in the room. From there, I think I would start with the bedding possibly as a starting point for the color scheme. Perhaps you could find bedding with a print you like in the colors that you like, and take from there, the colors for the rest of the room. As well as a sofa bed, another option might be a daybed that could also do double duty as a bed or seating. I think painting the furniture a bring pink would work well against the white. And then take it from there with whatever you've decided to do in terms of the overall color scheme with pink/white/silver/black or pink/orange and white for the walls, perhaps something like a gray as well with the second color combo. Good luck!...See MoreI need help choosing an exterior colour scheme
Comments (8)Hi, I know there are so many things to take into account and it's hard to get perspective from a photo. The white you can see is an extension with building paper, and the red is the existing building which is two story. The exterior is wide weatherboard planking, the windows are silver aluminium with very little trim. The doors in the front of the picture are French doors from bedrooms that will open to an enclosed courtyard ( yet to be built of course) The roof will be a light grey/brown but you won't see it much because of the flat roof style. There will be decking and ballustrades covering half of the new extension....See MoreNeed help with the front door paint colour as well as the stairs, many
Comments (9)I like @kelly's idea of picking a lovely fresh color of paint for the door. You can then bring it down onto the stair risers. Either a solid color to match the front door, or go wild and add some decorative elements to the risers with stencils. Or think of staining the door a great color and coordinate the stair railings and risers. I have an idea book put together for just such project that might spark some ideas for you. http://www.houzz.com/ideabooks/16700983/thumbs/Kathryn-Delany-s-Decorative-Stair-Risers...See MorePlease HELP quick.......little living room with big dilemmas!
Comments (13)There is nothing worse than ceiling-mounted lights--harsh shadows, flat lighting. They are strictly for utility. I would put a large-ish, shallow cylindrical shade on them and put nothing more than a 15-watt bulb in them. Use them strictly for lighting your way as you walk through the room. I agree with Vincent; the chair in the corner doesn't fit at all, nor does the one under the A/C unit (put that one with its mate behind the love seat). And the curtains look smooshed. I think the problem with the bookcases is that they are uninteresting. Did you buy books-by-the-yard? What are all those identical books? They are visually uninteresting. I'd get rid of some of them and get some colorful ceramics/glass/photos. The room is absolutely overwhelmed with furniture. It needs one less love seat. Do you really need all of them? Pushing them against the walls/curtains so tightly just visually emphasizes the fact that there is too much furniture. I don't think a mirror above the fireplace will work. When people are sitting down (which is most of the time), all they will see is a reflection of the ceiling--the plain, white ceiling. Get some real art in there with some color....See MoreLorena Chiappara
