Worktop help please
Our kitchen started to get fitted out today. See pic.
We are going for medium oak karndean flooring.
We want a white/light worktop. Granite/quartz.
After some googling I have read white granite can be porous and stain and also granite can need maintenance to seal regularly?
Kitchen will be a 2.2 m with 1.5 bowl sink cut-out and 1.8 X .9 island with induction hob on.
The builder gave a quote of £2k for white carrera like granite, supply and fit with upstand on sink wall. I am not sure if this is a decent quote or whether we really should think of another surface?

It’s quite a large space, and I’ve leant towards the current layout and adding a window to the side wall where that cupboard is. But I love the idea of a sink at the window, and also think the sloping ceiling would look better with the sink on that wall. Removing ranch slider. measurements for that wall into laundry (behind fridge) are 6200 long, 1500 wide. Current opening is 800 and the kitchen is 4350 Along the back wall. Comments (2)My suggestion -- start with a 'base' -- do the fence in charcoal , the retaining wall almost looks brick but I'm guessing it is wood , so maybe go the same grey as that tank wall or whatever it is , and do the white pipe the same ? And then decide the purpose -- a bbq , a table and chairs , a love swing , a spa pool , a water feature , a traditional garden , a rock garden , a desert scene , an egyptian garden -- you get the idea . Comments (0)My guest bedroom walls are painted half-pearl lustre ( similar to rice paper) being a neutral shade with slight buttery undertone. The headboard is cherry wood and the duvet is MM Linen 'Hedley', which is woodland greens with rust and buttery coloured flowers. Please advise curtain colour to best match as I think any more green might be an overkill. I have tried to find a very subdued rust shade but have had no luck.
