Leave a gap under the end for a good looking laundry hamper. Too many designs forget the essentials like bins and hampers.

Thanks bigreader. It seems like a very good idea. But bins and laundry hampers are not a requirement for me.

The vanity set up in photo will be fine, just make sure that each basin is separated enough for two people to stand and brush teeth at the same time.

the extra long vanity will be fine, since you said you are going to fill the space anyway.

assuming there are two people using the bathroom, wouldn't it be easier to have a central power point for two electric toothbrushes.

also can I suggest that you install a nib wall at the vanity end of the shower recess, and you extend the vanity to the Nib wall. This will then eliminate the waste of space between the vanity and shower, which will accumulate dust and be hard to clean.

and in my opinion, every bathroom requires a bin. Empty toilet rolls, used razors, used tissues etc etc.

Your drawing doesn't show any wall unit shaving cabinet, which would hold electric tooth brushes etc and could have power points attached within or under these cabinets. As dreamer suggested a nib wall the same depth as the base cabinets would work better.

If your vanity is floating you could slip a rubbish bin under it otherwise a drop down door next to the toilet for a lined rubbish bin

And swing your door the other way so you aren't looking at the toilet when you open it

Thank you dreamer. But cannot add a nib wall now as bathroom is almost complete. Designer is just asking me for number of drawers and cupboards in vanity. And I am unable to think how to make it look good with basins being on one side.

Electrician told me that central power point is not possible as it will be too close to the tap and that is not allowed. It will create problems during final approval. Hence, keep 2 PowerPoints on left side of basins.

If nothing works out, I will have to go with bin option and keep the vanity open near toilet.

Thank you siriuskey. Not adding a wall unit as I already faced some issues in my rented apartment with that and honestly I don't need that for anything specifically. Vanity should be enough for keeping stuff but I am struggling with Vanity design with both basins on one side.

have one smaller depth drawer undersinks to cover plumbing and continue that drawer size across for smaller items that do not require height.

then install two deep drawers below small drawer. The drawer width would be calculated for even spacing on the width of your vanity.

drawers are possible around plumbing because cabinet maker, manufacturers the drawers to suit.

The alternative is to have drawers on three quarters, and leave a opening under the vanity near the toilet for a bin. You could still have the smaller draw at that point. With open space below.

To be honest, I’d think about having just one vanity, and placing the WC against that wall instead. It would leave you a clear wall then for the towel rail (that won’t get splashed by the WC)

I agree there's no where to hang a towel next the shower if there was a full height Nib wall you could at least have had a couple of hooks

That was my previous plan. But my family believes in Vastu directions and stuff and toilet would be in incorrect direction if places there. That’s why I had to change design and make it this way.

That’s right siriuskey. I need to work it out where to hand towel exactly. I was thinking I can hang it behind the door if nothing else works.

This is my first house, so getting lot of experience now which may help me in future. But cannot add a nib wall now

You are designing a new bathroom towel rails need to be considered just as much as how to configure the vanities, your designer should have included this?

Designer is also unsure as per architects plan.

Just got a confirmation from designer that he cannot provide such long vanity. He will be providing me 1.5-1.6m long, so that will not till end. It will be for 2 basins without empty space.

For towel rail, we never thought about it. Hence, thinking of installing it behind the bathroom door.

Why the need for 2 basins? It would be crowded on a 1.5 vanity anyway, but for the few times you both need to be at the sink at exactly the same moment, is it worth the extra cost and loss of benchtop space? And there’s more cleaning to do too. Personally, you couldn‘t pay me enough to put in 2 vanity sinks.

A vanity bench can be made to any size. You can still have your storage at 1.5-1.6 metres, but have a bench top running the full length of wall as drawn.

The builder is able to install anything that you require which is drawn on your plans and in your budget. Why is the designer saying they cannot provide a long vanity? Is this not in your contract monetary allowance?

With a bench top of 1.5-1.6 metres, two basins will be squashed, and would leave no room for bench space.

You have two options, either only have one basin installed, or once the home is built, put a freestanding drawer unit which is a similar height to your vanity, along the same wall.

Freestanding drawer seems to be a better idea. But I will still check if builder can provide vanity of 1.5 m but benchtop extended till end.
