How do you want to use it. I generally think open and moving it foresee allowing more storage for mud room and avoiding large doors off dining would be better. The look of large double doors onto dining would be a bit odd but haven’t seen your concept.

Three options. Cabinet pocket doors, that disappear into wall on sides, cavity sliders which disappear into length of walls, or barn doors that can be decorative and slide against wall.

I’m assuming this will be a traditional butlers pantry that holds crockery, cutlery, glassware, and drinks. Not general food.

With doors opening in, as you mentioned, this is actually only making the workable space where the bench is. where the doors swing is just an unusable space.

I notice that your measurements are all in feet and inches, this is the Australian/New Zealand Houzz site. That would make a difference to our suggestions as the concept you have shown is not an Australian “thing”.

Thanks everyone! Our original goal was to use it as a bar area instead of a traditional food pantry or a traditional butler's pantry. Seems like it doesn't work for coffee so we are focusing on it as a bar area.

We've also been thinking about moving the countertop and cabinetry forward so you don't have to walk into the space. If we do that though we are not sure how to trim it out and seperate it from the other countertop on that wall in the kitchen. Do we leave the wall seperating it from the other countertop? Do we leave it trimmed out like there should be a door there?

Basically we are at the point of trying to find the best door options and use for the space as designed.

Examples as a specific bar area, with recessed side pocket doors or open.

It really depends on your look. I note the wall doesn’t align with the wall on the other side of dining. So it may look better as part of kitchen if you are using the same finish But if you are think diff finish then need to keep separate
