Kitchen cabinet doors have seen 10+ years of use. Still all solid but the gloss has worn away near the handles. I'm after any advice on stripping the coating off and perhaps leaving it matte, or stripping and applying some kind of gloss coating?
Take one door to a cabinet maker and see what they recommend to fix. I have never seen this happen with laminate doors before. Maybe the finish was inferior to start with when installed.
Hi NL, As a Kitchen Manufacturer I am not sure what you have going on there. I am wondering if that when your doors were installed they had a protective film applied for transport, which should have been removed after installation but it was not. I actually suggest that you find out what the door brand of laminate is IE who manufactures it and what the woodgrain & finish is and then take a door to that manufacturer (be it Laminex, Formica, Polytec, Formex, Abet, Wilsonart, Egger, Colourpyne, Ikea, etc) and have them work out what has happened. Also check their warranty.
I will be interested to know what has happened and who's board this is so, please report back too on what you find.
