I don’t think asking for opinions at this stage is going to make you worry less. It’s in now and you can’t change it. Wait until it’s finished, then post pics back here and we can give you some ideas on how to style it. For other rooms that maybe aren’t yet finished use the pics here on Houzz and Pintrest to establish a collection/moodboard of looks you like. It will stop you second guessing yourself. If you’re going to stick with the black fridge you’ll need some other black to tie it in. Maybe the light fittings or even just the toaster.

They are definitely just starting to have everything finished, so this might be far from the final look of the kitchen.

As far as having the color scheme fit in with the fridge, my recommendation is you try to leave the wooden cabinets that way, maybe just have them varnished with clear. Then then you could have black granite countertops with a shimmer to tie in with your fridge and other appliances. As for the ceiling, since you do really need the light and reflectivity, you could actually still have them a titanium white or similar. You dont want to overcomplicate with more than 3 colors at this point.

The paint for the wall colour is called *Aura" which is like an off white/grey colour.

I think the cabinets look darker in the photos due to lack of light.

I know there is no point stressing about the colours, it's done now and I can't change it. Just wish I stuck to my original colour combination.

But yeah. I'll post more photos once it has progressed further.

Looks like a walnut you have used on the cabinets which I think is so lovely.

Keep your colour palette really soft moving forward, the undertones are important. Keep to neutral based greys and whites, keep accessories minimal and simple and it will look stunning.

Your colour scheme is very much in keeping with the modern style. You could possibly incorporate the futuristic elements by adding smart appliances, automatic doors, automatic blinds or curtains. Things that dont impact the structure of the home too much and you can always accessorize with that theme in mind.

Well, painting has finished and tiling finished.

Here is a photo my builder sent of the kitchen

Its pleasant enough , and IMO the wood lifts it , so its better than 90% of new builds , which seem to be white and white and white and white , with something black just so you remember you aren't in a hospital . The window covering , any visible appliances , a pot plant or two , any stools , and of course how it ties in with say the dining , will all lift this even more , so already its ahead of the pack IMO .

I like colour , so probably would have done the 'main' wall there ( the one surrounding the wood trim ) as a feature wall -- I like burnt orange , and it would tie in and highlight the timber tones , but it also depends on the rest of the colours you are going to add , and your taste -- some people may have been subtle and go say a charcoal/darker grey , others a mid to dark blue or green or whatever you prefer .

Yeah, feeling a lot better about it. I still have thought on why I went with the wood look for the cabinet uppers but it does work. And I think will look much better once the floors are done.

That one isn't the 'rusty' look I tried to load sorry , but basically use your imagination -- you don't want a grey world !

Only reason I'm a bit hesitant on the wood cabinets is because the house I'm currently in is an 80s house and everything is brown. Brown kitchen cabinets, brown doors, brown trims, brown, brown, brown and kinda over the brown/wood look.

But it does work well with the other selections I have. I am happy 🙂

So now it is all grey grey with a bit of brown. It will look good once you add artwork and furnishings. Maybe wooden shelving for your entertainment area to compliment your kitchen cabinets.

Colours you’ve chosen will make it super versatile - Looks like it will be easy to add personality. Some more black somewhere I.e. counter chairs et will highlight what look to be black window/door frames. We revamped our kitchen last year and went for 1 wall of floor to ceiling black wood cabinets with black fridge, island with mat hing black cabinets and gorgeous blackbut top, no uppers anywhere else and light grey lower cabinets yes in rest of kitchen. It can either look industrial or modern farmhouse depending on accessories.

I think is beautiful, just add beautiful accessories incorporating a little timber to compliment the cabinets, it will look stunning.

Julie is spot on, stick with these tones for choices moving forward especially black. Consider black or white stools and black fittings if you haven't chosen them already. There is quite a bit going on here so you need to keep it simple moving forward, do this and it will look fab ;)

I had a curtains and blinds company come out and do a measure and quote.

The colours ice gone for are more of a light grey pallet for the blinds and curtains and black grey for the sunshade blinds in the kitchen, pantry and laundry.

For the curtain tracks I went with white (but have options of black and silver). For the bottom plate for the blinds it's grey and the chain is stainless steel.

It's just a quote at this stage. Should I change the curtain tracks to black?

I'm not really a fan of roller blinds but it was too expensive to go all curtains so didn't have a choice financially.

It's basically block out roller blinds inside the bedroom window cavity with curtain sheers on the outside. The colours essentially match the architrave and wall paint colours.

The lady doing the measurements said that if I went a light coloured sunshade roller blind for the kitchen, panty and laundry that it will get very bright in the sun (and it's west facing) and hard to see through so she recommended a darker colour.

In my opinion, the black grey blinds contrast well against the wall paint and the kitchen bench.

I have a measure and quote for my curtains and blinds today.

I didn't take a photo of the Blockout curtain in the family but it's a slight darker shade of the sheers.

For the 2 big stacker doors in the dining and living, they are going to put one big rail along that wall but the curtains will be able to be shifted both ways which is cool.

I'm starting to shop around for breakfast bar stools as the island is going to be my dinner table for a while.

It's hard trying to find a bat stool that will suit colour/looks wise.

What are your thoughts on this bar stool, do you think the colour will match my kitchen?

So hard to find the perfect stool, they are nice, will definitely match, here are a few more that may suit. You could add a bit of timber as well to compliment your cupboards.
