Should I paint colourbond fence?

I have a beige coloured colorbond fence which I cannot remove. My plan is to hide it by installing timber batten screens in front of it. The area is an enclosed courtyard so from the outside it will still look like a colourbond fence.
I'm thinking about painting the colourbond fence to black before I install the screens. But I'm unsure if this would be the right colour? The battens I have chosen are charcoal colour and are 9mm spaced between each batten. So the beige from the fence will be most visible when looking directly at the screens. If I paint it black would it be too dark combined with the charcoal screens? Wondering if other people have done this before and what their experience has been.
