Hi, would like your suggestions on which arrangement looks better please! I am slightly inclined towards tower on one side and fridge on the other. Thank you!
This is similar to the kitchen I’m hoping to build. I think at each end looks better and she’s mean the heat from the oven isn’t making the fridge work harder. But do some walkthroughs in your head - how do you cook? Make a hot drink? Unload groceries? Make sure the whole design works for you.
I like the balance of the first option. Where are the hot plates though, and do you have a safe, close space to put down your hot casserole dishes or roasting pans? Perhaps, and this depends on the who and from where access occurs, switch the oven and the refrigerator. As bigreader says though, good design is based on your own work practices. My hot tip: consider other household members and guests getting between the cooking zone and the hot or dirty items drop off zone. It’s an annoyance at best, dangerous in a worst case scenario
I agree with Kate, but my reasoning is with the sink, the fridge, and a thoroughfare to the laundry all on the left hand side, it will get awkward. Especially if the laundry is the access to the outside, or garage. Having the fridge accessible for getting drinks etc by other people away from the cook would be better on the right, out of the way of the sink and thoroughfare.
it's hard to be sure without a knowing all the details...can you share a floorplan including all the adjoining rooms and external doors and is this a renovation of an existing house or a new build?
We need a floorplan showing dimensions and rooms that. connect to the kitchen, and what style fridge to you have, two door or 3 door French The exterior door from the laundry would be better as a single glass with a hip height opening window so the cabinets can butt up to the wall, also better for ventilation
As above. You don’t need a sliding door in your laundry. They take up unnecessary room by limiting what can be butted up against them. You could take out sliding door, reduce the size of the laundry and then you could maintain the bench length and original fridge position.
What is the space to right of fridge in the last plan? Can you post a bigger floor plan. Is this a new build or do you have existing walls, if so mark them pkease
The island looks as though it is too far away from the sink and cooktop to be safe and user friendly. 1300mm max space between benches is a good workable space. What is the measurement on your plan between benches and island? Are you using the island for food prep?
