We have just finished our Porta timber in Tassie Oak. And don’t know whether to stain it or not? Any thoughts or maybe you to have done this on your island. Thank you 😊
If you like the timber as it is now uncoated you could use a white stain & hard wax from fiddies. A white stain will retain the natural look of the timber and also hilight the grain. If you clear coat it tas oak will yellow a lot over time from uv light particularly if you use a single pack waterbased finish. Or you can stain darker Pic is fiddies white stain and fiddies hard wax oil and previous waterbased finish that has yellowed.
