I don’t have a suggestion for the windows but pop a basin into your toilet for functionality that far outweighs the additional cost. And do a furniture plan to scale - I think your planned TV placement and the fireplace may clash with where you want to sit.

Yes I’ve done the to scale plan with furniture it helped a lot. I have been thinking about moving the TV to the back wall and turning the couch around to face it. If my 65” TV is next to the fireplace it would be on an arm. I didn’t want the TV to be too dominant as I have a lot of nice art, however it’s a long room and it being right down the end might be okay.
Better do you think?

Can you post a pic of your furniture layout? I’m better with visuals.

Is this a jack unload or are there lifting columns? You don’t want to have to walk behind couch to open door. Would the fireplace be better on the end wall. It is taking a lot of realestate and only viewable from one zone.

I found a window 2100 x 1000 which I think would be good on that north wall. Will give more options to move furniture around. I’ve marked where it should go, it’s to scale on my pencil plan.
For balance the sliding door at the end and the stacker doors will both be floor to ceiling blinds or curtain (don’t have to decide that yet) with the long window in between.
I want to be able to see the TV from the dining table and kitchen. I also want to keep the sliding door going out to the rear deck but it can be moved along if necessary.
I could move the fireplace but I can’t fit the TV, the fire, and the sliding doors all on that back wall. I hope you can see my drawing to scale, it wasn’t meant for public viewing so it is a bit rough!

Only you know how you live. Are you big TV watchers because even on a flexible arm the TV position isn’t great? Are you have stools at the island?

Thanks Kate, definitely something to consider. The stacker door on the plan is in the wrong place, it is adjacent to the dining table with the outside deck extended to level with the island bench. It goes to about halfway along the room and gives a lovely view through the window from the dining table. The stacker door opens in the centre of the room which I also think is good making it and inviting entry onto the deck. It’s just the other end that I don’t know what to do with … There would still be room for another sliding door so I will have a think about your design. One of the advantages of the window instead of sliding door is that it can be opened to let fresh air in without unlocking doors. What do you think of the window I picked? Would it still work with your furniture placement?

I watch a lot of music videos and the TV has a good sound bar, I’m likely to use it a lot. Love to watch Youtube when I’m cooking too. That’s why I want to watch from the other end of the room. I now think I will leave the swivel arm out and put it flat on the end wall.
I can’t believe I’m finding it so difficult to know what to do with the windows … ugh

Kate I like your design. The small windows are good each side of the TV, fireplace angled in the corner. I’d probably have a sliding door on the north wall at that end. Maybe this is it.
