Ripping out the old, dated tub made room for a walk-in shower that will remain practical as the client gets older. The back splash wall tile provides a stunning focal point as you enter the Master Bath. Keeping finishes light and neutral helps this small room to feel more spacious and open.

This stunning master shower was designed to compliment the tropical garden showers. We used a soft green tile in a bamboo pattern on the shower walls. A shower niche was built into the wall for holding soaps and shower accessories, and was lined with a complimenting bamboo 3D tile in a natural cream stone. The quartz shower bench material matches the vanity tops. The shower pan is sliced pebble tile and compliments the cream porcelain tile used through out the bathroom. The doors and trim is Sapele as are the custom vanity cabinets.

This is the third space we have competed for this homeowner (master bath, kitchen, & hall bath). Though not the master, this hall bath will serve as the spa-retreat for the home. It features a glass accent wall, marble mosaic floor, and a deep soaking tub. Wall color is Spinach White by Sherwin Williams.

Referencing the wife and 3 daughters for which the house was named, four distinct but cohesive design criteria were considered for the 2016 renovation of the circa 1890, three story masonry rowhouse: 1. To keep the significant original elements – such as the grand stair and Lincrusta wainscoting. 2. To repurpose original elements such as the former kitchen pocket doors fitted to their new location on the second floor with custom track. 3. To improve original elements - such as the new "sky deck" with its bright green steel frame, a new kitchen and modern baths. 4. We choose to highlight this project because even though it is a more traditional design style its light neutral color palette represents the beach lifestyle of the south bay. Our relationship with this family started when they attended one of our complimentary educational seminars to learn more about the design / build approach to remodeling. They had been working with an architect and were having trouble getting their vision to translate to the plans. They were looking to add on to their south Redondo home in a manner that would allow for seamless transition between their indoor and outdoor space. Design / Build ended up to be the perfect solution to their remodeling need. As the project started coming together and our clients were able to visualize their dream, they trusted us to add the adjacent bathroom remodel as a finishing touch. In keeping with our light and warm palette we selected ocean blue travertine for the floor and installed a complimentary tile wainscot. The tile wainscot is comprised of hand-made ceramic crackle tile accented with Lunada Bay Selenium Silk blend glass mosaic tile. However the piéce de résistance is the frameless shower enclosure with a wave cut top.

An original overhead soffit, tile countertops, fluorescent lights and oak cabinets were all removed to create a modern, spa-inspired master bathroom. Color inspiration came from the nearby ocean and was juxtaposed with a custom, expresso-stained vanity, white quartz countertops and new plumbing fixtures.
