This family room went from ultra shabby to super chic! Before the renovation the floors were a worn, dated parquet. We replaced the parquet flooring with a warm chocolate glazed birch hardwood. The fireplace surround was a dreary white painted brick which we refaced with a copper metallic porcelain tile. The preexisting built-ins were completely demolished as they were oversized and out of date. We designed more contemporary and functional custom built-ins for the space, adding some square footage to the room as well. The textures in the room-dark wood, copper toned tile, plush velvet and soft leather-all contribute to the warm and cozy feel of the space.

Starr Custom Homes
Created for a second-time homebuyer, DreamDesign 38 is a cottage-style home designed to fit within the historic district of Ortega. While the exterior blends in with the existing neighborhood, the interior is open, contemporary and well-finished. Wood and marble floors, a beautiful kitchen and large lanai create beautiful spaces for living. Four bedrooms and two and half baths fill this 2772 SF home.

This hexagonal room was created on the second floor to bring light to the interior and creat an upstairs hang out room.

The portion of the space to the left of the column was added to the back of our clients' home to give them an expanded yet still casual and open dining space. The original breakfast area was converted to a play area for their 2-year-old.
A fireplace that was originally on the back of the home was relocated to the current wall of the Family Room, and flanked with built-in cabinets, tile, and a millwork surround for the TV.
