This client loves opera, classical music and cinema. His collection includes thousands of movies. This room was sound-proofed using Quietrock 545. The audiophile multi-channel sound system consists of Bowers and Wilkins 800 series speakers and Bryston electronics. The video system includes a Runco 3-chip DLP projector with a Stewart Filmscreen tab-tensioned screen for movie viewing and a Pioneer Elite plasma TV for casual viewing.

5.2 speaker system with M&K front speakers, Sunfire subwoofers and Heos surround speakers all running off a HEOS receiver, Samsung TV and a Samsung 4K blu-ray player. The cabinet was custom designed for this installation. The lights in the room are also automated and is all controlled from either a home automation remote control or tablet/phone. air conditioning is also controlled through the automation system. Daikin Air Con Touch Screen was converted to control the automation system, all lights, TV’s (including home theatre and foxtel), aircon and multi room music can be controlled from here. A 48 port network switch, 2 x HEOS multi room music players, a CCTV recorder, the ELAN automation controller, HDMI to RF converter to distribute one of the Foxtel boxes throughout the house, 2 x Foxtel boxes (one dedicated for the theatre room)

Technology has never been better, and with the likes of a 3D TV, projector or super-sized TV, surround sound, comfy sofa and recliner chairs, you can easily bring Hollywood into your home. True film fanatics might even install a popcorn machine or fairy floss maker! Add a gaming console that can hook up to the big screen and you have yourself a fully functional media room. If you’re really serious about creating your own home theatre, spend some time researching the right home theatre systems for your needs, as well as speakers, lighting and lounge furniture. Do I need a designated room for a home cinema?
