Backsplash help
We have yet to install backsplash. Whites are too white. Grey can seem slightly off. Greige tones match well but also match wall. There really isn’t much to tile except the corner and behind stove. Two windows on either side of stove. Kitchen is open. Other side is windows and we have a lot of wood. Old beach home w chunky shiplap walls on other side and wood ceilings in sunk in living room/dark beams. So leaning towards simple.

Comments (18)Hello Marcelle, I am an interior designer . I can tell you a simple inexpensive way to change the look of your kitchen. Looking at the photo you sent the different cabinet heights , and all the objects on the stove wall are very busy . Your modern house is wanting a cleaner , simple look. I would lower the small cabinets so that the top is at the same height as the others in the room. And put doors on , that will hide the clutter. Next I would do a tile backsplash above the stove , up to the same height. The whole kitchen will be pulled together by the continuous top line. There is a small light wood cabinet with baskets in the foreground . I would paint it white , or the same dark accent color of the cabinets you have. Comments (4)I would balance the fridge cabinet wall by having the fridge centred between two narrower pantry cabinets as it currently feels far to heavy for your space. Alternatively, I would recommend having a narrow pantry on the left of the fridge with a full height cabinet with counter on the right with an upper cabinet above. Comments (40)We got the IKEA shelves that are pictured in the butlers pantry photo I posted when we were on holiday in Melbourne, Australia. We don't have IKEA here in New Zealand! Hubby is going back over in May/June so will get him to get more of that sort of thing when there. We would pay about 4x the price for that sort of thing here in NZ. Comments (46)The blue is awesome (grey is too trendy)! The reason it stands out to you is perhaps because it's the only real colour there. Bring in the blue in a window treatment, a small appliance that sits on the counter, a pretty tray or area rug. Also, it is more appealing often if there are more than 2 colours - so right now you have a white and blue colour scheme - bring in red or orange or fushia - something from the other side of the spectrum (like you did with the yellow flowers but in a more permanent way)!...See More

2 years agolast modified: 2 years agoGiven your photos/design, I would suggest to stick with a white backsplash in order to not compete with the countertop. A 3D white tile or a white iridescent one like suggested by Lyn Nielson above, I think are great options to make a bit more intereresting vs. just plain white subway tile. I would try to match the white (cool vs. warm) as close as possible to the white in the quartz coutnertop. Here's an example from a projects we did, granted the coutnertop is a bit darker:
