Wardrobe design dilemma

We are replacing our old sliding door wardrobe in the master bedroom and struggling to decide on a way to best use the space while maximising storage.
I feel there is a lot of dead space in the bedroom, but my partner likes the open feel.
Do we sacrifice space and build a walk in robe (which hides the mess and allows us to use floor to ceiling space), or go for hinged-door wardrobes in an L shape even though we’ll have to work with some very ornate cornicing and build a bulkhead above wardrobes.
Room measurements are:
3.8m W x 5.6m L
Ceiling height is 2.8m
I would love to hear your thoughts.
Thankyou
