We are trying to find a vanity to accommodate a butlers sink in our main bathroom/laundry . can anyone suggest where i can source such a vanity…. i have already bought the sink! i live in Adelaide.
I expect you will need to get a cabinet maker to make you one. sinks come in different sizes so you can’t just slip any sink in without some change. How wide and deep do you need vanity?
This configuration is not popular and as such you might have some issues finding a cabinet suitable to match your butlers sink. You may need to discuss with a cabinet maker to make you a custom vanity, or you could try modifying a vanity that is ready built, but it could be difficult, you will also need to hire a professional to do this.
If you're looking for an alternative solution, we have a wide range of vanities that are designed with a variety of sizes, styles, and materials to choose from. You can easily buy it online, and we offer delivery Australia-wide!
Looking forward to see the photos once your project is done.
This may show my ignorance , so I googled butlers sinks , and they seem to have 2 sinks in one , one slightly smaller than the other ?
What are they used for ? The 'Butler' terminology has thrown me , is it used like the sink in a butlers pantry , or is it more like a handbasin and laundry 'tub' ?
In other words , are you washing ( or rinsing ) dishes in it ; laundry ; your hands ; anything else ?
Pottsy, they are farmhouse sinks. Large-ish, generally white ceramic. Sometimes one compartment, sometimes two. A Belfast sink is similar. They are used as a decor item to set the tone of the room. Often used in kitchens and laundries in coastal/country/traditional homes. Aka a big white sink.
