Hi
Can I please get advise on furniture placing for my combined living/dining and if 2 rugs in a combined living dining would work.
It’s a large rectangular room - kitchen opposite the dining table, (dining table is placed incorrect in picture ) living room - we have a fireplace and TV Off centre.

I was thinking a L shape sofa with 2 armchairs
In living facing the fireplace and Tv unit.
what size rug ? Should they be matched considering it’s so close to each other

Hey! Great space! The table is too small for the space, it would immediately help if you had head chairs on either end of the table. It would read larger. If you're interested in a new dining set, try a round dining table, seating at least 6 for size. You need something to define each space, a new furniture arrangement could help. I would try rotating the sectional so that its off of the window. Good Luck!

You are correct the place does and always will look a bit sparse when you only have blinds. The question with curtains is sometimes dependant on what climate you live in and I am not sure where you are so I am going to say. If you need curtains for heat go for a quality curtain to the floor with a fabric that is not stiff (as I discovered I now own after buying curtains off line for my spare rooms). The expensive curtains I brought for my living room have a softer texture and hang so much nicer. As I need Curtains / Roman blinds for heat I have backing fabric etc on the expensive made to measure ones, where as the cheaper ones are just thermals. If you only want to add a curtain for looks and do not require it for heat I would recommend going with a lovely sheer / half see through fabric that drapes really well, this will add a point of interest and you can colour match or add a loved colour to a bare - white on white - cream on cream - colour scheme.

What are the measurements from end of kitchen bench to wall on the left hand side of plan posted? This is a wasted space. Were you wanting to put the table in this space?

Fridge is integrated Apologies the drawing is accurate as the fridge cabinetry continues all along that wall where the kitchen is … fridge and seating all along that wall

In that case, put your dining table at right angles to kitchen bench at left hand side of room. Put your lounge on right hand side in front of tv and fire. If you are having an L shaped lounge put the side of the lounge on the deck side. Keep space clear between dining table and lounge. Maybe a single accent chair, nothing else, because you need clear movement between the spaces.

Yes have floor rugs that are similar but not matching. Larger the better.
