If you have the driveway surface laid to your boundary on the left hand side, it would be your cost, and aesthetically look harsh. This narrow strip along driveway surface from left hand pillar to front boundary, is a perfect spot for small shrubs and flowers.

The situation with the driveway coming from garage as a double driveway, then angled to a single driveway, maybe out of the builders control. Ideally a double width driveway from roadside into garage would be best, but the council/shire may have stipulated single car driveways only. It would be at your cost to convert to a full double driveway, and you will need council/shire approval.

i checked with Architect and there is no issues in covering that missing part in driveway. it seems only the builder wants to do in this way. i dont want to cover till fence or beyond the garage wall. Left side pillar is 600mm for facade look. plus 150mm from fence to garage wall side. so total 750mm. atleast they should have cover till garage wall end in left side. also this bigger driveway let the two guests car parking on driveway :-)

What is shown is normal on plans. Builders won’t add extra than needed as raises cost. You have determined it is needed so should accept extra cost.

If you don’t want the left hand side of the driveway laid, and it is not in the plans, then don’t get it done. Your house….

better not to concrete hard to boundary like dreamer has suggested - green boundary buffers always a good thing for a house frontage. If the driveway is 5m (??) wide then you'd probably squeeze two cars side by side. your standard supermarket carpark width is 2.5m. It might be tight for bigger cars but how often do you have visitors? Greenery wins I'd suggest and save the money. If you really need the extra width extend with screenings which gives the surface/landscaping more variety and texture

As I said in my previous post. The council or shire may only allow a single driveway crossover. If you can have a double driveway and crossover, then you will have to pay for this and may need council/shire approval. Approach the council and get the correct information for your suburb. If a double driveway and crossover is allowed, then get it done.
