Sally was asked to design and oversee the complete refurbishment of this stunning yet poorly converted one bedroom apartment set in a handsome period mansion block on the outskirts of Covent Garden in Central London.
Enormously high ceilings give this apartment a New York lofty feel while large original windows flood the space with natural light. Sally discovered that original windows and decorative pillars had been boarded up and so immediately set about reinstating these unique period features. A streamlined kitchen with expansive lightly veined worktops and contemporary oak cabinetry was designed to compliment a classic oak parquet floor, giving the apartment a light, contemporary and natural feel.
Rich tones of walnut, brushed brass, shades of tobacco and forest green leather, chocolate velvet and earthy linens were all added to create a layered and eclectic palette set against a backdrop of atmospheric teal and interesting off-beat light fittings.

This beautiful Cotswold living room, originally built in 1650, has been updated sympathetically through an eclectic mix of modern furniture contrasting with its natural rustic charm.
A statement black linen sofa, adorned by a selection of beautiful white cushions with geometric stitching detail, is framed by black lacquered Chinese trunks and oversized bespoke lamps. A large black and white framed print adds character and personality. Two metal round nesting tables, sit upon a beautiful white hide.
The room is finished off with the all important accessories, including a water hyacinth round tray holding speciality gins, an oversized resin and stone clam and a vase of faux green succulents.

The brief for this project was to create a multifunctional space that included a kitchen, dining and living area.
The property did not benefit from a large garden so it was important that the depth of the extension did not significantly compromise the outdoor space. We therefore extended the kitchen into the rear reception room, which created a much larger open planned area and allowed for the installation of a small WC. Open planning the kitchen to the rear reception room also provided this area with some much need natural light via the skylights and doors in the new extension.
The fact the extension was not excessively deep enabled us to obtain planning permission for a good external wall height, which is complimented internally by the vaulted ceiling. The back of the extension has been finished with a large set of slim profile sliding doors, providing uninterrupted views of the beautifully designed garden. The final result is a light and airy space which accommodates the kitchen, living and dining areas that the client required.

This media unit is formed of a selection of pieces from West Elm, and provides a great amount of storage space for all your media must-haves. The ladder shelving unit is from an independent maker, and is made of reclaimed materials to give it a vintage appeal. The 'Dreamboats and Jaders' neon artwork really lifts the space creates a funky fun feel, that is echoed in areas through the property.
