This Cape Cod inspired custom home includes 5,500 square feet of large open living space, 5 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, working spaces for the adults and kids, a lower level guest suite, ample storage space, and unique custom craftsmanship and design elements characteristically fashioned into all Schrader homes. Detailed finishes including unique granite countertops, natural stone, cape code inspired tiles & 7 inch trim boards, splashes of color, and a mixture of Knotty Alder & Soft Maple cabinetry adorn this comfortable, family friendly home. Some of the design elements in this home include a master suite with gas fireplace, master bath, large walk in closet, and balcony overlooking the pool. In addition, the upper level of the home features a secret passageway between kid’s bedrooms, upstairs washer & dryer, built in cabinetry, and a 700+ square foot bonus room above the garage. Main level features include a large open kitchen with granite countertops with honed finishes, dining room with wainscoted walls, Butler's pantry, a “dog room” complete w/dog wash station, home office, and kids study room. I needed to design a space for Josh, a 7 year old boy. The mother wanted the space to be somewhat transitional. The colors should work well with more than one theme, and he should feel great in there when he is 7 as well as when he's 13. Josh wanted lots of photos of past events on the wall. I was going for a clean boyish look. I stripped and refaced the cute chest in red, so I had a starting point. I was thinking that the colors work well with a lot of themes like nautical, western, cottage, sports, etc. Josh will have lots of choice in adding his personal touches to his room. Once we settled on the colors the accessories fell into place.

This subtly masculine bedroom features a king bed with upholstered headboard and wooden rails and footboard. The bed is flanked by custom bedside tables with bow fronts and a lower cane shelf. A luxurious duvet covers the bed with accent pillows that pick up on the wall color and rug colors.

Photo credits: Design Imaging Studios. Kids bedroom features 3 pairs of bunks with rope ladders that were tied by a local fisherman. The bunks are full sized so adults are also comfortably. Each bunk contains a cubby and electric outlets. There is also built in storage beneath the bunks. The space creates a bold, bright and fun environment.

A freshman in college wanted a more "age appropriate" bedroom at home. She picked the "vibrant green" paint color and we did the rest. The NYC skyline pillow shams are a nod to her love of New York; and the funky Muchas Gracias wall plates are a fun way to incorporate her bi-lingual capabilities! We call it "Boho Chic"! She calls it AMAZING!
